Microsoft has warned Windows users of the dangerous Apple’s Safari for Windows flaw reported on May 15 by security researcher Nitesh Dhanjani. As per Dhanjani, the attack termed as “carpet bombing” exposes a security hole that allows downloading of potentially malicious executables on the victim’s desktop. According to Apple (and confirmed by Hardware 2.0 - on Zdnet - Adrian Kingsley-Hughes) Safari 3.1 is truly the fastest browser at the moment - followed very closely by Firefox 3 beta 4. You can read about this benchmark test on http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=1536&page=2 - Not surprisingly… Internet Explorer 7 is the slowest browser.
