Hey! Welcome! I’m Jesmond Darmanin, 24 years old technology enthusiast living in Siggiewi, Malta. This blog is where I write articles and useful information on the latest technology and other stuff that might be of interest. The topics posted on this blog range from hardware, software, security, computer graphics, games, photography, music and the best of all… gadgets!

From a very young age, I can remember myself playing with and dismantling all types of electronic gadgets, cars, electronic games, radios and the occasional sister’s talking and walking doll! All those little lights, electric motors, speakers, batteries and buttons always intrigued me and I always had this special interest to see how those work and always trying to combine them together to create new gadgets and ultimately trying to take over the world by creating a funny looking robot made of cardboard boxes!

When I started growing older and I got my first PC, a Pentium 1, 166Mhz with 32 MB of ram! I can still remember the first MP3 file I managed to get on my computer! A friend of mine gave it to me in a zip file distributed on 4 floppy disks!!  Later on getting the first 2X cd writer that cost me a fortune, and slowly slowly upgrading to a better machine.

When i got my second PC, I started learning a bit of Photoshop at school, and that was enough to get me hooked up to it, and a few months later I made my own website! I started getting better and better by practicing and learning new techniques and by 1998 (I was only 16 years old) I was proficient enough to build a solid website.

In 1999 I founded Storm Design, a very fast growing Web Design company in Malta, catering for the needs of small to medium sized businesses in Malta, and Internationally, with a very fast growing list of clients with over 20 full websites designed and hosted by us.

Since May 2007 I started working for GFI Software as a Web Marketing Assistant. Working with GFI so far has proved to be quite interesting, challening, fun and the team environment is great! In case you never heard about GFI, we are one of the leading network security software companies, with 10 offices worldwide including Malta as the main office. In May 2008, I have also started guest blogging on other popular sites and blogs. The first one is Green Nexxus - www.greennexxus.com. This is an awesome social site aimed to connect “green” minded people together and share projects and ideas with the aim to save the environment. In this site I will be blogging about how to “Go Green in IT” which surprisingly is quite a vast topic.

Another blog I will be writing in is www.AllSpammedUp.com which is a blog with loads of articles on  corporate anti spam. Quite informative and helpful for organisations that what to keep on the edge in the constant battle against spam!
