I don’t see anything funny about this. Obviously the people in the church were shocked to see the statue fall. And the nun trying to catch it shows the sincerity of her devotion.
Now, others may not have the same level of faith in the liturgy of this service, but some respect for others beliefs is something we could all have more of.
That’s rather awesome. I saw the whole time. The guy in the purple was NOT holding the statue, and then he acts all surprised when it falls. I bet he tried to blame it on someone else - that’d be the proper Christian thing to do.
Wow, the golden calf comes to mind. The reaction of the congregation says it all - they certainly placed a lot of importance in this idol! Carrying around a statue adorned with flowers - representing a completely ordinary human, at that - where is this in the Bible? When I was Catholic, my Christian friends used to take issue with our tendency to “worship statues”, and I didn’t get that. I’d maintain that they were just symbols and we were all on board with that in the Catholic church. But here it is, spelled out on YouTube LOL.
You can’t have respect for false beliefs. To hold a man made piece of plaster to such high regard and beleive that it hold any power really shows how some religions are brainwashed. Those who follow the bible should actually read their bible to see what it says about statues.
Mocking science is a crime. Mocking FAITH? Not so much. Faith is just that, a belief without justification or cause.
I think the video is hilarious for every reason possible, including the fact that anyone in there would think that the statue dropping is anything more significant that the fact that the shining new thing they bought for their church is now broken because the parishioner on the front left side obviously got lazy.
Don’t _have_ to respect nothin’. Note this idol was destroyed, and God (if there is one) didn’t seem to care. The statue isn’t important to Him, why should it be important them?
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth”
Im pretty sure hes dead, dso that means hes in heaven. Therefore you cant make images of him.
Worshipping a statue is just as crazy as worshipping a non existing deity somewhere in the sky. Protestants and Catholics can have old the sectarial arguments they want, but the fact is any religious belief is equally dumb.
“Now, others may not have the same level of faith in the liturgy of this service, but some respect for others beliefs is something we could all have more of.”
Bullshit. They’re idol worshippers, dancing around a stone idol, as are all christians and all muslims and all religionists.
This ridiculous bullshit should NOT be respected. It should be mocked.
Exodus 20:4
God condemned making graven images, statues, or relics and worshiping them as idols.
Exodus 25:18-19; Exodus 26:1,31
God commands the people to build cherubim (angel) statues on the holiest of relics - the Ark of the Covenant, whose blueprints were written by God himself.
Numbers 21:8
The people were told to mount a pole and put the statue of a snake on it. Anyone who looked at it would be healed. Hm, healing from a statue, eh?
1 Kings 6:23-29; 1 Kings 7:29
The temple of God’s people, whose blueprints were revealed to David by God himself, contained TONS of statues, images, and relics. God really condemned those things? If so, He’d be a hypocrite.
2 Kings 13:21
The man was healed by touching the bones of a prophet (a relic).
Matthew 9:20-22
A woman touched Jesus’ garment (a relic) and was healed.
Turns out that making statues, images, and relics isn’t non-biblical after all. Turns out that God, the prophets, Christ, the apostles, and disciples actually promoted such things when they were used a channel towards God.
Hm, looks like Catholics are reading the Bible… actually in context. How weird.

God smitten the old man who let go his hold causing the statue to fall. God then shouted to the congregation, “Thou shalt not worship false idols! Next time it will be you bitches!”
People can believe whatever the hell they want, it’s still funny when they do so. Religion is a lot like the Special Olympics; It’s kinda funny to watch and oh so very important to the participants.
